31 Dec , 2005

This was my biggest loser today as I played poker online for the first time in a while. Also testing out the WordPress poker plugin.

Unimproved AK is very hard to play in limit. Against multiple opnnoepts you should often fold on the turn because even if you hit one of your cards (especially the ace), someone may make two pair. You’re not really comfortable hitting either of your cards with the flop you gave and multiple opnnoepts. You might try raising the flop to get a free card. If you get 3-bet, just call and fold the turn if you don’t improve. If someone bets into you on the turn and you don’t improve, just fold. But most of the time, raising the flop will buy you two cards to improve.
